The fabric is a little darker, more of an oatmeal color than the photo shows.

I blanket stitched 3 brown/rust wool flowers onto  the fabric.

The frame measures 12" long by 9 1/2" wide.  I painted the frame black.

This sampling can either be hung or displayed on a plate stand.

PRIMITIVE OWL, SOFT SCULPTURE, 100% WOOL, ORNAMENT - SOLD

 

I used to collect owls, many many moons ago.  Although I don't collect them anymore, they still hold an attraction for me.  This owl is a design by Rock River Stitches.  The leaf and acorns I added . . . just because I liked them.

The owl measures approx. 7" tall.  He is made of 100% repurposed wool and stuffed with polyester filling.  I attached him to a stick from my backyard with some rusty wire and also secured with fishing line.

The leaf is also made of wool and has been blanket stitched.  There is wire between the front and back, for bending.  One small portion of leaf is hand sewed to owl with fishing line.  The acorns are made from homespun with real acorn caps.  They are sewn to the wire holding the leaf in place.

There is a rusty wire hanger on the back.  Perfect for hanging on a peg shelf, cupboard door knob, etc.

I've done the applique and stitching on osnaburg fabric.  The strawberries and leaves are 100% wool.

Strawberries and leaves are blanket stitched.  The strawberry blossoms are white buttons with yellow floss stitched in the centers.

I've sewn a border of burgundy/tan homespun around the osnaburg.

The oak frame measures 17" x 14"

This snowman is a design by Threadbare Primitives.

It measures 9 inches tall.

He is made from muslin, that I've tea stained heavily and stuffed with polyester filling.

His eye brows and mouth are hand stitched, he has tiny black buttons for eyes which are stitched on.  I gave him a stick nose, also stitched on.

  His stocking hat is made from burgundy and tan homespun and burgundy felt.  I've sewn a rusty bell to the end of the hat.

The feather tree is hand stitched with brown, dark green and dark red embroidery floss.  The berries are French knots. You'll notice there are also some white stitched snowflakes.  A yellow/gold wool star sits atop the tree and 'snow flurries' adorn the star and ground beneath the tree.

FAITH HOPE LOVE, KEY SAMPLER

What a perfect addition to your country / primitive home decor!

The background is a piece of cutter quilt that I've stained to give it an Olde Thyme look. The colors are pinks and greens.

I've hand stitched FAITH HOPE & LOVE onto coffee stained muslin which has been hand stitched onto the cutters quilt. I've then attached an old skeleton key with a piece of stained cheesecloth tied around it and a rusty star.

There is no hanger on the back of the painted and distressed frame. Just display on a shelf or cupboard.
