LENA, FOLK ART CROW / RAVEN GRANNY DOLL DECORATION

Lena is a design by Raven's Haven and this is my interpretation. 

Lena is taking home to her family, a loaf of bread. The bread is made of stuffed muslin.

She is wearing a coat made from a woven coverlet. There are 2 rusty bells attached to the front of coat with rusty safety pins. She wears a babushka (head scarf) of muslin, and wire rimmed glasses.

Lena is attached to a black wooden block ( only because I had such a terrible time trying to make wire feet!) 

She measures 6 inches tall.

Lena is made from a pattern design by Raven's Haven.

Lena is made of stuffed muslin and has beads sewn on for eyes. Her coat is made from an old wool scarf with wood beads sewn down the front as buttons. She wears a cheesecloth kerchief on her head. She has a sprinkling of mica snow.

Lena is on her way home from the market with some evergreen and goodies for decorating up her nest for the holiday season.

Lena measures approx. 6 inches tall. Including the evergreens, she is 10 inches high.

FOLKART PUMPKIN & CROW / RAVEN WALL HANGER - SOLD

 This sweet Pumpkin & Crow door / wall hanger makes a great accent piece for that small space you don't know what to do with! Great to hang Oct. Thru Nov.

The pumpkin is made from black and orange checked homespun fabric, stuffed with polyfill. The stem is a real twig and the leaf is made from a scrap piece of green wool. I've tied some raffia around the stem.

The crow is made from muslin which has been painted and a wreath of gold/orange pip berries
is worn as a collar.

A round tag that reads FALL is attached to the pumpkin with a rusty safety pin and a rusty bell.

This piece measures 7 inches wide by 9 1/2 inches tall from top of twig to bottom of pumpkin.

There is a wire hanger on the back, but if you prefer to set up on a shelf, just lean it against something.

PRIMITIVE SPRING ROBIN MAKE-DO - SOLD

The Robin is a design by Sassafras Hill Primitives.

Robin is made of stuffed muslin which has been painted and sanded for a nice worn look. The eyes are beads, sewn on. All around the wings and gusset are hand stitched X's in black perle cotton thread. I've wrapped a rusty twisted wire around the neck and added a rusty bell and prim round tag that says SPRING. I'm including 2 more prim tags that you can change to as wanted - SUMMER and ROBIN.

The Make-do is a hand made candle holder painted blue and black. I've hot glued green Spanish moss to the bottom along with a pip berry wreath in blues and 3 'robins eggs'. Bird is hot glued to the top of candle holder.

A great Spring/Summer accent piece.

Entire piece measures 12 1/2" high.
Robin measures approx. 11" wide by 6" high.

PRIMITIVE ULYSSES RAVEN ON WOOD PEDESTAL - SOLD

Meet Ulysses.  He was made from a pattern by Soft In The Head.

Ulysses is made from muslin that is stuffed with polyfill and painted with black acrylic.  He's been sanded and rubbed down with black shoe wax and rubbed again with cinnamon.  Eyes are black beads that I've sewn on, not glued.  His legs are fashioned from heavy wire and stapled into the wood pedestal.  Around Ulysses' feet I've glued down some green moss.

The pedestal is an old wood spindle that I painted and distressed.  It measures 

7 1/2 inches high.

Ulysses measures 14 inches across and is 7 1/2 inches tall. 

Total measurement is 15 inches tall.

PUMPKIN & CROW GIVE THANKS - SOLD

The pumpkin is made from an old candlewick bedspread that I cut up.  It was stuffed with polyester filling and painted orange and stained with a mixture of coffee & vanilla.  The stem is real wood and I tied a prim tag onto it that reads GIVE THANKS with homespun.  The top of the pumpkin is covered with stained faux leaves and Spanish moss and a nice prim style crow.  He's been painted, sanded and rubbed down with cinnamon.  He is wearing a rusty wire collar with 2 rusty bells.

Measures approx. 5 1/2" high & 7" wide.

PRIMITIVE CROW & PUMPKIN DOOR HANGER/SHELF SITTER - SOLD

 Measures approx. 15" from top of stem to bottom of crow's tail.

  

Pumpkin and crow are made from painted and stained muslin, filled with polyester filling.

I've attached a bunch of preserved Sweet Annie & some white pip berry stems to the front of pumpkin and wrapped pumpkin/crow with orange and black homespun.

I've used a twig for the stem and attached Spanish moss. 

 A tag is attached with a rusty safety pin.  It has a bucket filled with a crow, pumpkin, sunflowers, and candy corn.

There is a wire hanger on the back for hanging.

WHIMSICAL / FOLK ART FREYA CROW'S PUMPKIN PATCH - SOLD

 

Freya is a whimsical / folk art crow measuring 7 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches high.

She is perched on one of the pumpkins in her 3 pumpkin patch.

Freya is made of painted muslin, stuffed with polyfil.  Eyes are burlap and buttons. Her tufts of 'hair' is wool roving which I've felted on her head.

All 3 pumpkins are made of lightweight quilted fabrics and have fronds of raffia attached at the stems.  Only the 2 smaller pumpkins have a faux leaf.  Freya is hot glued onto the large pumpkin.

He measures 17 Inches high and has a wire hanger on the back.

Mammy Martha measures 12 inches high.  She is made from muslin which I've stained, painted and sanded to give her a nice worn look.   Her face has been needle sculpted.

She is filled with polyester filling.  Her head wrap is made from stained muslin.  She has some 'tufts' of black hair at the sides of her head.
Martha's collar/shawl is red & cream plaid homespun and held together with a large rusty safety pin and rusty bell.

A small black crow sits on her shoulder.  He is also made of muslin and has been painted and sanded.

LOVE DOVE MAKE-DO- SOLD

I made this Love Dove from my newest pattern - released today!

The dove is made from 100% wool fabrics.  The body, wings and tail are 3 separate wool colors/patterns.  The beak is made from black felt and eyes are sewn on black beads.  Both sides of dove are finished.  The entire dove is blanket stitched in white perle floss.

The heart is made from red wool, hand stitched with white perle cotton.  There is a heart on both sides of the crochet doily but the backside of the heart does not have LOVE on it.  The hearts have been blanket stitched to the doily.

The make-do is a 7" high old wood textile spool.  I've attached a red/gold/ rusty star candle ring to the bottom along with Spanish moss.  The dove also sits in a nest of Spanish moss.

Total measurement of make-do is 12 1/2 in. high by 13 1/4" wide.
